New Fragrance: Maison Francis Kurkdjian Presents APOM
One of the earliest masterpieces from Maison Francis Kurkdjian was APOM—an acronym for "A Part of Me"—originally created in 2009 as distinct fragrances for both women and men.
As the maison approaches a significant milestone, Francis Kurkdjian revisited this iconic scent, crafting a new version that embodies his artistic liberty. “I wanted to rejuvenate two fragrances that were part of the brand's original lineup,” Kurkdjian shares.
The 2024 reinvention of APOM combines the essence of the previous versions into a single, captivating scent that features amber as its core, enhanced with floral and woody undertones.
While many appreciated the original fragrances, I, as the creator, felt they could be refined further,” Kurkdjian explains. “Artists often use ‘pentimento’ to revisit and perfect their past works, and that’s what I did with APOM.
I blended the luminous sensuality of the feminine version with the sophisticated allure of the masculine version to craft a new, unified expression
All perfumes often labeled as ‘skin scents’ typically lack the diffusion and technical excellence needed to be considered exceptional fragrances,” Kurkdjian notes. “Volume and diffusion are crucial;
they form an integral part of a perfume’s technical prowess and are fundamental to my signature as a perfumer.”
Kurkdjian elaborates, “The maison offers a contemporary take on fragrance, grounded in the tradition of French fine perfumery.” He highlights, “Our legacy is built on several essential pillars.
From the start, our goal has been to bring art and sophistication into daily life through scent. Fragrance isn’t reserved for rare moments—it’s a vital aspect of self-expression and personal well-being.
